We put together a band for the MONSTRO album release party back in May – and loved the chemistry so much that we decided to film and record a live session to capture the unique energy a live band brings to the EP tracks.

The lineup features some incredible players: Ste Anderson (my other half from the Brett Domino Trio) on drums – unbelievably, this is the first time we've played together in a "real" band after 16 years of doing comedy together. We're joined by Josh Hughes from Leeds (aka Cub\cub), plus Sheffield jazz stalwarts Tom French and Lee England.

We recorded it on one of the hottest days of the year in a tiny, windowless room crammed with studio lights and no air-con… a far cry from the expansive desertscape I've superimposed onto us in the edit.
