Las Venganzas De Beto Sanchez

A 1 track bossa nova single (2m 9s) — released March 10th 2023 on Miles Away Records

Guitarist, composer, arranger and record producer Oscar Lopez Ruiz was one of the key figures in Argentinian jazz history. Brother of Jorge Lopez Ruiz, who released iconic Argentinian jazz albums such as El Grito and Bronca Buenos Aires, Oscar composed several soundtracks and between 1967 and 1969 was director of the jazz label Trova, with whom he produced albums of Piazzolla, Mono Villegas and Horacio Ferrer, among others.

Whilst he featured on a lot of recordings there's very few that Oscar put his name to – this being one of the only ones. Las Venganzas De Beto Sanchez (The Revenges Of Beto Sanchez) was released in 1973 and originally scored for a dramatic comedy film of the same name. Later released as a 7 inch in very small quantities, copies rarely appear and have become something of a mythical creature.

Miles Away are proud to be working with the Lopez Ruiz family in re-releasing this beautiful single initially as a digital only track with plans for a very special release later in the year.
